The first thing to do is to stop the computer from automatically rebooting when there is an error. The second thing to do is to really think what updates may have occured since the problem was first seen.
In order to do that you need to note down not only what you were doing when the blue screen occured and also what was the date when if was first seen. You may notice that the blue screen occurs only when you do one particular thing....... but that on its own won't help much!!!
Trying to read the blue screen messages is usually just far too hard , Because they only flash up for a second or two.... There should be a message in the error log and it should be possible to go looking for that message.
If you notice when the blue screen of death is first seen, you can then look to see what updates have been downloaded to the computer since then, then make a note of which ones thouse are ----- Note down the time it was downloaded and the full name of the update. You will see that every update has a unique name and it is important to note all of these name down seperately.
Error logs can always be consulted and you should once more note down the times that the errors occured, clearly any errors that are logged before the blue screen of death was first seen will not be relavent.
In this blog we will explane exactly how to find the error logs and also which error logs are the ones you should concentrate on. Error logs are always there but getting to them will be slightly different for XP, Vista and Window 7 and 8.
So in Windows XP, you want to open up Contol panel and then put it in to Classic View and then look for the Administrative Tools icon, then look for Computer Management icon.
